Why it’s important

In the last two years, American solar and storage have surged. American-made solar module manufacturing has grown by six times in just over two years. Solar installations can now power over 40 million homes. The solar and storage industry supports over 280,000 good jobs and $70 billion in investment every year. 

Solar energy is affordable, abundant, and easy to deploy. So, as America works to meet the rising energy demands of AI, data centers, and advanced manufacturing, solar and energy storage are critical to keeping energy bills in check and maintaining America’s economic competitiveness.  

However, right now, Congress is considering cutting policies that support solar and pulling the rug out from underneath the billions of dollars invested in solar manufacturing and deployment.  

At this critical moment, we cannot afford to slow this momentum. We need to double down. For our economy, for our communities, and for our children, we need to demand that Congress protect American solar and storage.
